Böllhoff - Supporting sustainability strategy through efficient data processing
Summary
Böllhoff Group, a fourth-generation family-owned company, is renowned for its high-quality fasteners and related assembly and logistics solutions. As part of its efforts to become climate neutral in Scope 1 & 2 by 2030, Böllhoff is optimizing its process to capture CO₂ data more digitally and decentrally.
The vast amounts of data and the global organizational structure have previously resulted in a substantial amount of manual effort
Böllhoff has been manually collecting the group-wide carbon footprint for Scope 1 & 2 since 2020, but the process has been challenging due to the high complexity and large amounts of data involved in 43 locations across 25 countries. The high communication effort and limited clarity and traceability have prevented the collection of Scope 3 categories so far. Collection, aggregation, veri-fication, and calculation of Scope 1 & 2 emissions alone required significant resources, making it difficult to expand to other categories.
Main Needs
The Tanso software enables efficient data processing for complex and decentralized organizational structures
Böllhoff was looking for an intuitive software solution to efficiently manage large volumes of data in a structured and decentralized manner. The choice fell on Tanso - a software solution designed to efficiently map CO₂ balances from Scope 1 to 3 for complex and decentralized organizational structures over time. Helpful features from the Tanso software include that tasks can be assigned to responsible personnel at individual sites, and users can enter data and attach invoices as supporting documents. The software also allows for coordination across locations and countries via comments on activities. Tanso's structured release system ensures audit-proof traceability, making it an ideal solution for organizations looking to streamline their CO₂ management processes.
Key Achievements
Due to the structured task management within the software, all data from 43 locations could be collected and analyzed within six weeks
After a brief project introduction and Tanso app setup, Böllhoff was able to efficiently collect and evaluate the entire Scope 1 & 2 data including documents for all subsidiaries and locations within six weeks.
